The 8th edition will have some of the world’s best golfers pit their skills against each other in Sentosa Golf Club to take home the USD1.4 million prize.

When we think of golfing, we immediately conjure up images of people in high power positions swinging a club while negotiating around seemingly tricky business deals. However, there’s more to golf than meets the eye on television shows and news of politicians going for golfing trips.

Golf is essentially a high precision sport that has garnered incredibly proficient players from all over the world in a series of tournaments showcasing their razor sharp swings. Right in Singapore’s backyard, golf pros, aficionados and sport fans will be able to witness some of the leading female golfers battle it out for the USD1.4 million prize during the 8th edition of HSBC Women’s Champions come March.

Amongst those who will be unleashing their adept arm work are defending champion and crowd favourite, Paula Creamer and 17 year-old, Lydia Ko, who recently moved up the ranks to first position in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings. Talk about a young rising sporting sensation who’s even looking to topple Creamer’s standing.

“I would love to win the tournament. The world’s best players are there and all the people that have played really well in the last 12 months. The champions of champions are there, so everybody is going to be super excited and everyone’s going to hope to have a trophy at the end of the week, but I’ve just got to play my own game. It’s definitely a tournament I would love to win,” said Ko.

Boasting one of the most stringent qualification criteria of any LPGA tournament, HSBC Women’s Champions will return to the impressive grounds of Sentosa Golf Club where some of the world’s most elite players will pit their skills against each other to bag the “Asia’s Major”. The 72-hole stroke play tournament essentially prides itself as a truly action-packed festival of golf.

So whether you’re looking to support your favourite golfer or just looking to see how the pro golfers do their perfect swing, this is definitely one sporting event you don’t want to absent yourself from.
