Lengthy Locks: 7 Surefire tips to make your hair grow faster
updated the 14 November 2016 à 11:25If your hair grows really slowly, you could be doing a few things wrong. Here are some tips to speed up the growth rate.
Have you fallen for a pixie cut or short bob a few weeks back and now regret it because perhaps the style doesn’t suit your face shape or facial features? Don’t worry, it’s just hair and it’ll grow back. But if you’re keen to speed up the process, here are some tricks to grow out your hair in a flash to achieve your dream mane.
1. Change your diet
There are a multitude of foods that are great sources of proteins and vitamins vital for stimulating the growth of strong and healthy hair. Invest in more wheat germ, flax oil and fatty fish (like salmon and tuna), to optimise the growing speed of your hair.
2. Get your hair trimmed regularly
To stimulate the growth of healthy, luscious hair, make sure you cut the tips often. Schedule frequent trips to see your hairdresser – once every couple of months. The longer your hair grows, the more the strands are prone to breakages and split ends.
3. Try some homemade masks
Did you know that in Polynesia, coconut milk is used to promote hair growth? Apply it alone, or mixed with essential oils for that extra fragrance, and leave the concoction on for a few hours or overnight to boost your hair’s growing power. There are many other DIY hair masks that you can make at home.
4. Massage your scalp twice per week
Once or twice a week before shampooing, massage your scalp well to improve blood flow, or use a large hair brush and comb it through your hair carefully for a few moments. This is the perfect way to restore some volume to limp and tired-looking hair.
5. Turn to food supplements
Taking supplements can be very beneficial. For fans of natural ingredients, brewer’s yeast is known to facilitate the growth of healthy nails and hair. Supplements like biotin, collagen boosting silica, vitamin A, and vitamin E can also help.
6. Choose a shampoo suitable for your hair type
It is essential to select the appropriate products when it comes to hair care. If you have oily roots, choose a shampoo that can clarify your scalp (alternate with everyday-use shampoo if you need), and for damaged lengths, pamper them with a nourishing range.
7. Cut your hair on a full moon
Perhaps it’s just a myth that panders to old grandmothers, but we’ve heard that if you cut your hair on the day of a full moon, it’ll grow back much faster. Certainly, it has never been proven, but it costs nothing to try!
