NETFLIX has just announced new parental control features that you’ll love

Netflix has just announced a new set of parental control that lets parents specifically decide on what their kids are allowed to watch.

Just last week, Netflix announced that it will be releasing new updates that give parents more control over what their kids can watch.

With the new updates, parents can now set custom PINs for specific shows and movies they deem inappropriate for their children – irrespective of the show’s actual age-recommended ratings. So if you think your little one’s too young for Frozen, you even have that option of restricting it from them (sorry kids – you’ve got to Let It Go!).

In addition to the parenting controls, the new update will also reflect the maturity label ratings for all its shows more clearly on Netflix. This will let you as parents make better judgement on deciding which shows you’d let your kids watch.

It can be scary navigating this digital age as a parent raising young children; which is why it’s always heartening when global giants such as Netflix and Google (with its recent launch of Family Link in the US and Canada) come onboard on issues of content control for kids.

Unfortunately, Netflix has announced that these updates will be rolled out globally over the next few months, and across various devices you can download Netflix on (i.e. smartphones, televisions, laptops). So watch this space to find out when it will be officially released in Asia!

This new announcement also nicely coincides with Disney’s anticipated (and also presumably family-friendly) new streaming device launch – we’re definitely keeping our eyes peeled for that!
