When it’s hot outside
Just because it’s a scarf doesn’t mean you can only wear it when it’s wintry cold outside! These days, with lightweight materials and summery prints rising in popularity, you can find a slew of different scarves to suit the weather. When wearing your favourite tank top or strappy dress, choose a short scarf to adorn your neck, much like a tie. Or, if you aren’t the type to wear anything around your neck in hot weather, wrap it around your wrist or use it as a hair accessory, for instant style points.
When it’s cold outside (or inside!)
Adopt the street style trend of wrapping oneself in multiple scarves for that “boho chic” look. If it’s not blustery outside, you can wear them loosely hanging around your shoulders without having to knot them around your neck.
When it’s raining
Keep a scarf handy in your bag if it looks dark and ominous outside. Not only would a scarf keep you looking chic while you’re out battling the elements, it will also keep part of your outfit dry. Plus, you can use it later to wipe yourself dry when you find cover!
When you just want to look stylish & put-together
There are many other ways you can use a scarf that doesn’t require the piece of cloth being wrapped around your body. Use it to customise your handbag or your clothing (e.g. as a belt). Play around with colours — go monochrome if you like the sophisticated and minimal look, or adopt bright yellows and oranges for a summery look. Scarves are incredibly versatile, you just need to find the right size, shape, colour and material!
