Amy's style has evolved immensly in the past few years and it's amazing to see the stunning actress develop a certain timeless look to match her incredible talent.
Although very minimal, we're loving this blue Gucci number on her. Again, the choice of accessories (notice those antique-looking Tiffany & Co. sapphire and ruby earrings) make a difference and add a subtle variation to an otherwise classic old Hollywood look.

Too much detail is all we can say about Annas J Mendel look which ended up look a tad messy. A simple column dress - or even a floaty gown - could have worked better for the petite star, don't you think?

anne hathaway in gucci
Anne has done it again - and no, we don't mean it in a good way. We were expecting her to make up for last year's blunder and ill-fitting frock horror by finally donning a Valentino number worthy of a star, but instead we were faced with a plain look that says nothing much.
Don't get us wrong, the dress fits perfectly and is flattering on her but it lacks the wow factor we expect from a young star who used to excite us when it comes to fashion.

Angelina in Elie Saab
There's always a dilemma when you are attending the Oscars yet it is your beau who is nominated and not you. But Angelina Jolie knew how to shine without overshadowing Brad by donning this gorgeous Elie Saab number which looked effortless yet stunning on her. Her hair was kept simple which is exactly what a confident starlet like her would do.

cate blanchett in armani Privé
Cate is known for taking risks on the red carpet (think of all those McQueen, Givenchy and Balenciaga high fashion looks she wore) but today she went for a more classic yet stunning look. Perhaps she wanted to wear something timeless being the top contender of the Best Actress Oscar? We love everything about this look but mostly how radiant and simply stunning she looked even in such a pale shade.

charlize theron in christian dior couture
We love Charlize Theron, if anything - because she never disappoints and always takes a risk when it comes to the red carpet fashion. This year, we're loving her Christian Dior Couture look with that dramatic tail that a very few people can pull off. The Harry Winston diamond necklace adds just the right amont of bling.
And let's just add - no one rocks the pixie cropped hair as well as Charlize. Stunning from head to toe!

Emma loves having fun with fashion and this Vera Wang number shows that she can still be her unique and young self while looking glamorous. We love it!

jennifer lawrence in dior couture
Despite stumbling - yet again - on the red carpet the minute she arrived, J Law pulled it off with another Dior Couture red number.
We didn't mind the back necklace trend on her last season but this year we just don't get it. That aside, the hair, makeup and the whole look in general was a winner even if she didn't win the oscar this year.

On the runway, this Chanel Couture number looked loose and shapeless - but Jessica Biel breathes some life into it!
Simply stunning - the actress pulled off all the right stops when it comes to looking glamour in metallics but without over-doing it.

lupita nyong’o in prada
Lupita was THE one to watch this evening, and she didn't just win the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress, she also won in the style stakes - and a big time for that!
After her bold and colourful looks all season, Lupita went for an extremely feminine and fluid look with this stunning ice blue Prada gown which complemented her skin tone to perfection. But the success of this look had a lot to do with the details - mainly the delicate yet rich gold accessories which comprised of a headband, earrings and some beautiful yet understated rings.
After an extremely fashionable season for the new actress - we couldn't have asked for a more perfect look to be the icing on top of the cake. We're loving it all the way and kinda sad we won't be seeing her as often now that the awards season is over.
Maybe next year?

Quirky as she is, Meryl Streep is always true to her character on the red carpet. We love how she's pulling off this off-shoulder black and white Lanvin dress with confidence. Age appropriate and stunning - even if she didn't win, she's still our favourite leading lady of modern time...

penelope cruz in Giambattista Valli
Although we love the Spanish actress, we're not feeling that Grecian-inspired draped dress on her. It just looks too mumsy for someone as feminine and sexy as Penelope. Perhaps something a little more fitted next time?
And let's not start on that uninspiring bun...

Leave it to Pharrell Williams to shake things up on the red carpet. While his shorts drew question marks from the majority of people, we can't help but feel that he brought some fresh and humorous edge the sometimes 'too-serious' red carpet.
And to be fair, if - and we mean if - there is anyone who could pull off this look, it has to be him!

Sandy looked every inch the Hollywood star that she is in this dramatic Alexander McQueen which fit her to perfection. We love the hair swept on the side and the simplicity of the rest of the look which made sure she is not over-shadowed by the dress.
