Rock or classic, what would you choose? We show you how to wear the must-have lingerie-inspired sexy fabrics of the season – without fail.

It’s been a couple of seasons now that we’ve seen on the catwalks a variety of sexy fabrics like satintullemesh  and lace. However appealing, these classic and somehow revealing materials should be worn with caution. And this is what we’re here for. So read and learn…

Pitfalls to avoid:

– An overly romantic lace: If worn in the wrong colours and shapes, lace tends to look dated.

– The “silly” side of satin: Oh the horror of ending up looking like Disney princess wannabe…

– The “over-sexy” connotation of the mesh and tulle: We’re just saying, leave something to the imagination.

Our tips:

– Limit  the colour palette to black, white and navy.

– Invest in quality. A “cheap” lace kills the allure of the look so avoid synthetic material.

– Avoid wearing the look from head to toe. Always add an element of contrast or surprise.

– In the daytime, go for a “rock” vibe.

– In the evening, keep it classic and elegant (nothing ultra-slinky or too short).

– We also like playing around with accessories like adding a woollen hat with lace trimmings as a simpler way to deal with this trend!
