The absolute first thought with this product was, ‘what exactly is a serum in oil?’ Skincare routines usually consist of serum or facial oil that suits any particular skin condition and that is to be applied religiously after cleansing. The Body Shop went one step further and introduced their latest innovation – a serum-in-oil blend.
Essentially, it is designed for use during your night skincare routine as it promises to replenish and recharge moisture as you sleep. With the highest concentration of wheatgerm oil that also contains one of nature’s highest source of antioxidant Vitamin E, the potent blend is set to reveal a refreshed and revived complexion every morning – akin to having a restful 8 hours of beauty sleep!
Our Verdict? After using it every night for over a week, we found the lightweight texture to be more reminiscent of oil rather than a serum but it absorbs readily and does not leave a film of grease. There is also a slight scent to it but that makes the product all the more sleep inducing, which we wholeheartedly welcome. By taking a simple drop or two, every morning, we awoke more invigorated complete with a plump and soft complexion.
While the product is suitable for all skin types, we suggest those with oily/ combination skin to use a smaller amount while those with dry or dehydrated skin to experiment using a small amount in the day before moisturizer as well.
All in all, we think we found yet another The Body Shop product to gush about in our beauty cabinet!
