‘W’ is for the Week that fashionistas can’t wait for!

We’re talking about the fashion fever that will grip Asia in October, starting from the little red dot, all the way to Tokyo, Jakarta, Seoul and back to Singapore for Digital Fashion Week in November.

In Asia, where fashion weeks are always on the rise, you’re excused if you get a little confused, so here we introduce you to the 6 ‘W’s of The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands Fashion Week 2013

What

cread and butter-fashion-week-singapore

A world class Fashion event, organised and run by FIDé Fashion Weeks.

This event has been growing season on season and will now be run as the 6th installment of the series – with a twist.

Unlike its previous installations which were mainly deigned to show either men’s, women’s or couture creations – This Fashion Week will showcase everything  from Parisian Haute Couture designers to Asian designers, prêt-a-porter for men and women and even emerging talents.

In the previous years, the FIDé Fashion Week attracted none other than internationally acclaimed Japanese Designer Kenzo and even high society and royals, such as Prince Albert and Princess Charlene of Monaco.

Who & Why

With a full showcase of over 30 exciting presentations, there are plenty of well established designers, comeback houses from last year’s show and a wide range of international and regional representations. So really, there is something for everyone.

The fashion season will open with international prêt-a-porter labels (all of which are housed at Marina Bay Sands, The Shoppes so we’ll surely be tempted to shop after the shows!) and will be appearing as part of nine Featured Shows. These include brands such as Porsche Design, Anne Fontaine, Bread&Butter, Pierre Balmain and more…

Following that and starting on October the 13th, couture shows will begin with dedicated days for Asian couturiers including Michael Cinco from The Philippines, Guo Pei from China, Lie Sang Bong from Korea and Yumi Katsura from Japan– followed by a French-themed day featuring Julien Fournié, On Aura Tout Vu, Alexis Mabille and a showcase of emerging French designers from Atelier Chardon Savard.

Saving the best for last – the final day will show the only designer from the host country Singapore Frederick Lee and the collaboration between French couturier Julien Fournié and the popular online shop Love Bonito, who will reveal their collection at the finale show.
