The busy traveller’s guide to a day in Jakarta

Business trips can really take a toll on your energy levels, so it makes sense to try and travel in comfort as much as possible. On work trips, it’s best to check out options that allow you to have priority check-ins, boarding, and baggage delivery and make the whole process as breezy as possible. After all, you’ll have plenty of work to attend to once you touch down.

After a few weeks of making sure all your itinerary is watertight and making complimentary last-minute changes to your ticket (negotiating with everyone’s schedules is a feat, after all!), it’s time to head on over to the airport for a speedy check-in – no waiting is needed since you’ll get to check-in at a dedicated immigration counter with your Premium Flex ticket! Don’t forget to grab some breakfast and unwind before your flight from the Premium Red Lounge.

Leave your luggage at the office and go explore the many eating houses in the city. We recommend checking out a place like Warung Ngalam, a narrow open-sided cafe serving Indonesian dishes.

After your work day is over, make your way to Kota Tua, also known as the Old Batavia Complex, located in North Jakarta. The Old Town has many structures left over from colonial Dutch rule, and is a heritage-listed site. Don’t forget to try out Indonesian staples like satay or even dishes like jackfruit curry when you pass by traditional eateries there. There are also plenty of museums to explore in Kota Tua, alongside beautiful Dutch colonial architecture.

It’s time to return to the hotel and prepare for your flight later in the evening. Once again, check- in is a breeze, and you’ve never felt more revived from a business trip.
