A breather from saccharine ensembles of pastel pink and heart cut-outs, here is our guide to a killer Valentine’s Day look!

As the day of flowers, chocolates, lace and everything pink and red draws closer, there can only be one major issue at the back of every girl’s head – what to wear!

If your internal dilemma goes along the lines of “What will catch his eye? Will he fancy pink on me? Maybe he likes lace? But what if I look old in lace! How about a skater dress. No, too childish. Or maybe a bodycon dress. But my tummy will show!” – then you’ve come to the right place as we have picked 20 of our favourite items for that special day.

From flats for a long romantic stroll in the park, to fit-and flare dresses for the waist conscious ladies after a candlelit dinner, and LBDs with a little twist (within music lies romanticism, no?) to spice up your evening – this Valentine’s Day is all about having as much fun with your outfit and turning as many heads with statement pieces while keep comfort at its optimum.

While a colour palette consisting of pink and red accents might be quintessential for some in their Valentine’s day ensemble, they are definitely not our top choices (unless it’s those gorgeous Charlotte Olympia pumps we’re coveting). Is it just us, or are stereotypes simply meant to be challenged? We prefer psychedelic prints with a pop of colour, and just about anything with the fun factor. After all, isn’t Valentine’s Day all about having a fun-filled day with your beau?

For singles, these pieces might even catch the attention of that hunk across the road!
