Body language: What does your walk say about you?

Your hand position, the swing of your arm, the length of your step… The way we move in a space reveals many things about our personality. Find out how!

Ever noticed the way you walk?

You often walk with open hands, palms facing your hips? Good news: It is a sign that you are compassionate in nature. Palms forward? Well, you’re kind of narcissistic. Facing backwards? It seems that you are rather resigned to fate. Let’s move on girl, the best is yet to come!

Arms being held close to the body reveal a discomfort or a desire to escape. We see the exact same reaction when we run, the way our arms are often pressed against our bodies.

Not in your case, as you’re more inclined to walk with your arms crossed over your chest? You display mistrust, which directly translates to a lack of self confidence. As for those who are used to walking with a hand clinging to the other wrist, this is a way to make yourself feel more secure, an inherited childhood reflex.

So what is the best way to do it? Walking whilst swinging your arms indicates that you feel good! And based on experience, the greater the amplitude of that swing, the higher your morale goes as well.

The hips don’t lie

Does that long, straight stretch of road ahead naturally prompt a swing in your hips? Certainly, a rolling gait definitely helps you gain speed. But you know that your sashaying is going to attract public attention to your perky bottom, don’t you? Admit it, consciously or otherwise, you want to seduce!

Cruising speed

You have a habit of walking fast? It is, in women, a reflection of an outgoing personality. For men, this is the sign of an open mind. Conversely, if your walk is slow, it denotes a certain shyness in a woman, and a slightly more conservative temperament in a man.
