We give you some essential tips to perfect your regimen and sail through every AM quickly.

If you still find yourself feeling frantic in the morning and taking too much time on your makeup when you could be getting some extra Z's, it's possible your makeup routine isn't quite as concise. All you need are these few simple tricks that'll have you speeding through your morning and cutting prep time down to half.

HIGHLIGHT YOUR BEST FEATURES

Understand what's the best part of your face whether eyes, lips or cheeks and you can minimise time on other parts of the face. If you want all eyes on your peepers, spend some time to discover what's the best look for your eyes - whether it's a simple smokey eye, winged eyeliner or extra mascara for lashy doll eyes. Lips are easy to play up with a bold colour even with the most understated makeup look. This way you can simply switch up colours and formulas such as matte, satin or glossy finishes. If you think your cheekbones are the star players, don't hesitate to add some contour and a lively pink or coral blush.

MULTI-TASK YOUR PRODUCTS

Whoever thought about doing double-duty products is a genius. Nifty inventions like lip-and-cheek stains have been on our must-have lists since they were first introduced. That said, did you know you probably have makeup of your own that could act as 2-in-1 even if it's not stated on the packaging?

Pigmented lipsticks in pink, orange and even dark hues like aubergine can be dabbed onto the cheeks to create a pretty stain. Let mistakes take a back seat as the creamy formulas make it easy to blend them out if you've added too much.

Your dark brown eyebrow pencil can also create a smudgy, lived-in smokey eye in a jiffy. Just melt the tip quickly with a lighter or matchstick and let it glide onto your upper and lower lashlines, maybe even taking it to the outer crease. With your ring finger or a pencil brush, smudge the lines and create a soft ombré effect.

If you're already bringing light to your face with a highlighter, make yourself look more awake by patting the colour onto the centre of the eyelids and inner corners as eyeshadow. Even if you've only slept for four hours, no one will know.
