Why: A collaboration between The Arts House and The Sing Song Club, The Alphabet Series is a showcase of a series of 26 recitals based on every letter of the alphabet. This year, The Arts House celebrates the 150^th anniversary of Richard Strauss, one of the greatest of lieder composers in the world, and remembers forgotten composers like Stephen Foster and Giacomo Meyerbeer and song composers Joseph Marx and Marc Blitzstein, who died 50 years ago. For a mere $20, bring open hearts and ears to the venue and be enchanted.

The run is open to everyone who is 13 years old and above and promises to be the wettest and wildest one Singapore has ever had – expect epic obstacles of every kind, whilst you run and splash about during this exciting 5K.

Where: Various locations on Circular Road/Club Street
Why: Celebrate the storming of the Bastille this weekend by drinking lots of good champagne and eating lots of crepes, whilst practicing your French. Start the celebration with free-flow champers for $30 at O’Batignolle and head on down to Le Comptoir’s after for some great French electro music. The popular post-work haunt in Singapore is offering you the best way to celebrate this important fete.

With the FIFA ‘14 Finals and Bastille Day happening this week, amongst other exciting events, the next seven days promise to offer a whole lot.
