For perfect skin, it is always tempting to give in to makeup with blurring and waterproof effects. But how do you get rid of the tough makeup? Cleansing oils are here to the rescue.

Constantly striving for perfection is no strange concept in the beauty world. For that, decade after decade and year after year, we have seen the development of many beauty products which claim to make it easier for us to achieve that flawless look we all covet.

Waterproof products, primers and lately blur products are on top of that list. And while there is no doubt they do the job, more often than not, they leave traces which might be hard to remove completely using our normal cleansing product.

What is a “blur” product?

Blur products do not completely treat the skin but they play on optical illusions so your blemishes are less visible. The effect blurs the pores, smoothes the skin and camouflages redness and imperfections. It generally takes the form of a tinted moisturiser or foundation .

The system relies on a particular phenomenon called the “soft focus”. It is to change the method of light reflection from a surface. The idea is to create a product that can scatter the reflected light. Therefore, the visibility of details on the surface of the skin decreases.

How to choose the right cleanser?

To change the reflection of light and create this blur effect, cosmetology labs have developed silicone or oil products. These spherical pigments are durable enough, especially in water. They are the ones that make removing makeup a little more complicated.

To remove this tough makeup, use cleansing oils which contain silicones, mineral oils or biphasic solutions. Then wash your face with a cleansing gel or an enzyme powder to remove the “greasy” effect. Here’s our pick of the best cleansing oils to remove resistant products.
