Leather varnish, sand effects and caviar manicures – spice up your lacquer life by trying these uniquely textured nail polishes.

Since the release of the oh-so-famous Ciaté Caviar manicure in 2013, brands have been introducing new and exciting textured nail polishes like wild fire. And we’ll be the first to admit that we just can’t get enough.

Instead of the flat, neutral coloured nail polishes we’ve come to know and love – 3D textures are taking over. From leather polishes, to concrete designs and liquid sand effects – this season it is all about having a little something extra on your nails (literally). Whilst the edgy look isn’t for everyone – it is a great way to incorporate some fun nail art without taking an expensive trip to the nail salon. The best part? you don’t need to be a rocket scientist to apply these varnishes – they’re easy to work with and will last for a substantial amount of time.

Ciaté’s unique velvet nails and Alexa Chung’s most-talked-about leather effects are definitely head-turners. But if you’re looking for something a little more suitable for everyday wear, opt for Zoya’s pixie dust or Illamasqua’s speckle varnish.
