Too much matte powder
When it's hot outside, matte powders can help your skin shine and hide those blemishes. However, it also dehydrates your skin, accentuates your wrinkles, and ages your skin. Think twice before you apply some!
Our advice: If really necessary, sprinkle some satin finishing powder on your T-zone (forehead and nose) instead.

Getting that extra tan with bronzer
Yes, it is hot outside and the sun is glaring. But if you're still a little pale, do not be tempted to cheat by applying a thick layer of bronzer, or you might find yourself sporting an excessively orange complexion.

Our advice: Instead opt for a glowy complexion with some BB cream!

Forgoing the sunscreen
It can be tempting to forgo the sunscreen, especially on a cloudy day when you don't see the sun out.
Our advice: This is a huge misconception, as even on cloudy days UV rays can still damage your skin. Always carry a skincare product with good SPF protection, or a cooling mist with sun protection.

Applying too much illuminating powder
We all want beautiful and shimmery golden skin that we can flaunt in the sun, but beware, as too much of these illuminating powders can give the impression of oily skin.

Our advice: Applying it only to certain areas can accentuate your look. Try highlighting your cheekbones, browbones, and decolletage.

Choosing the wrong shade of foundation
If you choose a foundation darker than your skin tone to appear tanner, you're just setting yourself up for trouble. Essentially, you'll risk having a distinctly darker shade on your face and neck relative to your hands.
Our advice: If you need to cover the blemishes on your skin, opt for a lighter BB cream or concealer instead.

Combining bright makeup with tanned skin
You have an amazing tan and you want to show it off by highlighting it with the trendiest of colours of the season: turquoise. It is all great, but remember that colours like that are not easy to wear.
Our advice: Stay away from the garish colours that will make your makeup look distinctly gaudy. Instead, go for colours like apricot, brown, gold, and copper which are beautifully timeless.

You may think it is classy to use the same shade, but it is really just plain boring.

Our advice: It would be a shame for you to not let loose a little! Why not go for a little yellow on those toes? If you're afraid of not being able to pull it off, you can always use different hues of the same colour on your hands and feet instead!

Using sunscreen after you are sunburnt
You think of sunscreens as emergency products and run to the drugstore to buy one only after you get sunburnt. Big mistake. Even if you do not feel burnt by the sun's rays, a mere 30 minutes of exposure will dehydrate your skin.
Our advice: Apply your sunscreen before you step out into the sun, and at night after you return from the beach. Sunscreens, unlike moisturizers, contain soothing agents which prevent flaking, relieve overheating, and prolongs your tan.

Using conditioners without SPF
It is always a good idea to condition those luscious locks, but using conditioners without SPF protection can be a disaster as your hair will get damaged under the sun.
Our advice: Either do a hair oil treatment to deeply nourish your roots at night, or use a conditioner with SPF protection to protect your locks against those UV rays.

You thought lip balms were only meant for cold weathers and ski holidays, but then you realize that beyond 30 degrees, your lips resemble a withered plum.
