Pretty Plaits: 5 Easy braid hairstyles to try on short hair
updated the 4 March 2016 à 10:19Shorter hair should not stop you from rocking awesome braids.
If you have short hair and have always brushed off the idea of doing braids, we’re here to help. It is still possible to do a decent braid without it looking too messy. From a French crown to a braided up-crown, all you are going to need are bobby pins, hair spray or gel, along with patience.
Practice is the key to perfecting these hairstyles and it all starts with blow drying your hair, which helps to tame your hair and make it less frizzy. Start off by massaging your hair with any essence or serum. Once the product has been absorbed, blow dry your hair section by section. The options are endless from then on. To create a braided crown for example, start by pulling hair from your roots taut and begin to braid a normal braid. The aim is to braid your hair away from your face till the two strands meet each other at the bottom to form a crown. Secure any tangles with bobby pins and use a toothbrush to clean up the baby hairs along your hairline once you’re done braiding. This helps to create a neater look overall.
Now that you’ve mastered the steps for one style, head over to the gallery up top for a round up of other braid styles to try for shorter hair types.
