To get yourselves all prepped up for the festivities, we’ve got Lara Valigny, makeup artist at By Terry to give some expert tips.

As the Christmas festivities start to surround us, we sought the advice of Lara Valigny, By Terry’s makeup artist on what should be the perfect holiday makeup look. She tells us that the key to a successful party makeup is one that bounces light off. Your skin should be radiant and catch the light throughout the evening. In short, you must be amazing!

STEP 1

A luminous makeup look necessarily requires hydration. Use a good amount of moisturiser and slather it on the face and around the eyes. This will boost the brightness of your skin.

STEP 2

After that, apply the Glossy Gold Elixir primer across your face and emphasize on the cheekbones. This primer, infused with 24-carat pink gold, hugs facial lines and gives a perfect glossy nude complexion. Feel free to make any alterations throughout the evening for a flawless finish.

STEP 3

Place a light veil of powder all over your face to set your makeup and keep it matte.

STEP 4

Before doing your eye makeup, apply a uniform base all over the eyelid. And as for eye makeup, do not be afraid to be creative for parties or play with sequins even.

STEP 5

As for the complexion or eyes, do not neglect the preparation. Using a lip pencil, trace the outline of your mouth to obtain a perfect drawing and improve colour retention. For a fully uniform result, line on the inside of the lips, then drop a creamy touch of Terrybly Velvet red.

The pro trick: to secure the best colour, you can drop in a very thin layer of powder around the edges of your lips.
