We try Rachel K CC cream and reveal if it’s worth the hype…

Living in the tropical climate of South East Asia, who could possibly understand our skin needs more than a homegrown brand?

Singapore beauty label Rachel K – which is named after and headed by former Miss Singapore Universe 2009, Rachel Kum – is at the helm regarding that, and its CC cream has been generating quite a buzz lately.

Do we believe the hype? We were skeptical to start with but after giving the CC cream in Original a try, we’re totally converted.

Why? Because even with combination skin (dry with oily T-zone) and slightly darker complexion (olive with yellow undertones) this cream has done the job. It has a thicker texture than our usual BB cream and although it appeared light in colour, it blended very well once applied on the face and gave us a dewy texture and a radiant glow without the chalky effect.

We also like the natural feel and medium coverage (you can top it up with pressed powder or foundation if you want full coverage) which lasted the whole day without caking.

In fact, we thought it blended too well – more like a skincare product than makeup – that even when removing it at night, not much came out on the cotton pad! It definitely blurs the line between the two (including UV protection  with SPH35 PA++) which makes it perfect for busy folks like us who are looking for an all-in-one everyday product to do the job.

Rachel K CC cream (in Original and Natural), Approx USD26.6, is available at selected Watsons, Sasa and BHG stores in Singapore, and online at Luxola.com.
