Smokey, smouldering and sexy – discover how you can recreate Léa Seydoux’s makeup look in just a few steps.

There’s nothing we love more than a classic smokey eye. Paired with the perfect nude lipstick, this timeless makeup look can be worn for both day and night. Sexy and sophisticated, rocking navy blue-toned shadows, rising French actress Léa Seydoux showed us how it is done on the 2014 BAFTA red carpet – and we just can’t get enough.

To recreate the look, we suggest completing the eyes before the skin. As we are working with bold colours, there is sure to be some unwanted fall down that won’t be easy to remove once the foundation is applied. Using the Givenchy quartet eyeshadow palette – go in with the second lightest blue and pat it onto your whole eyelid – do not go above the crease. Also take that colour onto your lower lash line. Once done, use the darkest blue and apply it to the outer corner and through the crease – blend until there are no harsh lines left. Using a smaller brush, take the lightest blue in the palette and apply a small amount of it to the middle of the eyelid and lower lash line – this shade will catch the light and give you an extremely flatting effect. Finish by highlighting the inner tear ducts with the silver shade. Complete the look by applying your favourite black mascara. Use a wipe to clean up any powder which might have fallen down onto your cheeks.

Once you’re done with the eyeshadow, you can then complete your brows. Our tip: because the eyeshadow is very dark, go extremely natural when filling in your eyebrows.

To finish, prep your face with a moisturiser and primer – this will ensure your makeup will last all day (or all night) long. Use a flawless foundation to complement the eyeshadows. Skip bronzer and go straight to the blusher – a peachy, coral colour will do just the trick.

Try this look at your next VIP event or night out!
