Givenchy Le Rouge: How to find your perfect shade of lipstick?

What do Elizabeth Taylor, Queen Elizabeth II and Winston Churchill have in common? They were all fond of lipstick!

While both Her Majesty and the Queen of Hollywood wore distinctive shades of red lipstick – with the former demanding that no one else wore the shade on her movie set and the later commissioning a personalised shade to match her coronation robe in 1952 – however, it was the WWII hero whom British women had to thank for keeping lipstick in production during the war, when all other cosmetics were rationed. His reason? Apparently he felt that putting on lipstick ‘had a positive effect on morale’.

And who are we to argue with one of history’s greatest heroes?
