Television’s biggest night, the 67th Emmy Awards 2015 was in full swing yesterday and your favourite drama stars, comedians and show hosts showed up in their best. For this week’s Face of The Day however, we take it back to the Pre-Emmy celebration where Mad Men star Christina Hendricks wore a soft smokey eye look against a glowing complexion.
Since the look involves very dark eye makeup and black eyeshadow, consider putting on your eye makeup before anything else. This ensures that any fall out eyeshadow that may land on your cheeks can be easily wiped away as opposed to if it had landed on your already-powdered face, ruining the foundation. Pack on the colour on your lids and buff the edges out towards the crease with a fluffy blending brush. Follow up with an angled brush to add a wing tip with the eyeshadow, then coat your upper and lower lashes with mascara for a dramatic effect.
Create a flawless base with a creamy foundation and stippling brush. Dip your brush into the product and lightly buff the cream on all the areas that need that extra coverage, diffusing any harsh edges to mesh with your natural complexion. Let it set and once it’s dry to the touch, dust on some powder on your T-zone. Fill in your brows as you normally would and swipe on a peachy lip colour that can double up as blush.
