FOTD: Son Dam-Bi at the Seoul YSL Beauty Couture Makeup Show

K-beauty meets Western influences as actress Son Dam-Bi works the classic cat eye with a bold pink lip. Find out how you can recreate the look.
We focused on Seoul over the weekend as Yves Saint Laurent held its Beauty Couture Makeup Show at the bustling city’s Lotte Department Store. Various Korean beauties were in attendance, and among them was Dream and We Got Married actress, Son Dam-Bi.
The actress matched her classic Le Smoking-inspired outfit with a bright hot pink pout, for which we found a perfect match with a lip colour by 3CE in Violeta. A true blue-toned pout is perfect against fair skin, it compliments a pale complexion and brings life back into the face while counteracting dullness. Deeper skin tones can benefit from the same colour by mixing it with a suitable nude hue.
Before going in with the lipstick, get your base perfectly applied with a lightweight BB cream that promotes a dewy glow. Skip the powder in order to show off that perfect poreless complexion, and move on to the eyes. Go for a straight brow and fill in the sparse areas with light strokes of your preferred eyebrow pencil, alternating with a clean spooly to blend. The eyes are done with a simple cat-eyeliner look and lengthening mascara for long, fluttery lashes. Let the focus be on clear, translucent skin and forgo the blush.
Put on your best silk shirt for the office and maybe even consider sporting a bob like Son Dam-Bi’s!
