It was love at first sight! On the Haute Couture runways of Christophe Josse and Yiqing Yin, we fell for two hairstyles designed by Delphine Courteille. Here’s how to recreate them step-by-step.

CHRISTOPHE JOSSE - yiqing yin

The ponytail – from Christophe Josse runway

The Inspiration:

For this hairstyle, professional hairstylist Delphine Courteille was inspired by the elegance of “young female models” which resulted in a graphic yet fragile look.

How to do it:

Step 1: use a flat iron or a flat brush and a hairdryer, smoothen the hair layer by layer starting from the bottom. For smoothing down stray hair, apply a hydrating styling cream.

Step 2: Separate the hair at the ears and create a mini high ponytail with an elastic band, make sure the hair is tied up well at the top of the head. Wrap the ponytail with a small bunch of hair to hide the elastic band and conceal the end with pins.

Step 3: Gather the lengths behind the neck and tie with an elastic band. To bring out the shine, spray some hairspray throughout the hair.

The round bun – from Yiqing Yin runway

The Inspiration:

The stylist was inspired by Romy Schneider in the film La Piscine to create this low shell-shaped bun.

How to do it:

Step 1: Straighten and smoothen the hair with a flat brush. A hydrating styling cream can also help give texture and a smooth finish to the hairstyle.

Step 2: Pull the hair back at the nape of the neck and tie with an elastic band. Spray hairspray to fix it in place.

Step 3: Divide the ponytail into two. Wrap one of the locks on itself, then around the elastic and secure it with pins, Repeat this step with the second half.
