Makeup trends for Spring 2014 – straight from the runways
updated the 7 October 2015 à 00:04M.A.C. star makeup artists Lyne Desnoyers and Tom Sapin, explain 5 makeup trends to follow this spring!
Face: Rosy blush
This is the new way to highlight a face. Give it teeth and a touch of vitality.
Tip: Apply the peach and pink blush on the cheekbones itself (not above) and blend the colour upwards.
Eyes: Think sparkle!
You read it right; we have shimmer to flaunt this summer as well.
Tip: Move away from the glittery Christmas eyeliner and instead use it on the entire eyelid. The result? Brightness and a hint of sparkle.
Eyes: Modernized liner
With black eyeliner, instead of running it all around your eyes, change it up and go for a chic 60s feline look. Other options are to simply line the outer edge of your eye or even create a blurry liner effect.
Tip: Use the cotton swab to give a blurred effect as seen on the runways.
Eyes: Oversized lashes
Pile on the mascara to both the top and bottom lashes to open up your eyes for a fresh look.
Tip: Use a cotton swab to remove black marks that may have gotten onto you face and use some false eyelashes (but not the entire row of eyelashes) to extend the lashline.
Lips: Orange fever
For spring, orange is the new red. It’s a colour that is bound to suit every woman.
Tip: Apply the colour by lightly tapping it on your lips to give it a bitten look. For those who find orange a tad bit overpowering, this trick will aim to create a muted effect.
