Sure, we incessantly grumble over Singapore’s permanently peaking humidity index but what makes our humidity seem like a godsend is whenever we have to cope with dry, flaky skin on trips to winter destinations. It’s neither smooth to the touch nor a good sight.

After obsessively piling on moisturising creams on top of moisturising creams, it seems like we can now calmly place our bets on just one hydrating hero, Aesop’s Elemental Facial Barrier Cream. While suitable for all skin types, this cream is especially perfect for those with dry, sensitive skin.

Formulated with a fine suspension of Carnauba waxes and a Castor-based emollient blend, the luxuriously rich cream goes on smooth, creating a barrier to survive the harsh cold conditions. Complemented with Zinc and Copper salts of Pyrrolidone Carboxylic Acid that are utilised for their soothing, balancing and humectant properties, you could be assured that your skin will sufficiently retain necessary moisture and yet keep it supple with vegetable-derived emollients. Lastly essential oils of Clove, Moroccan Chamomile and Sandalwood instil the product with a comforting aroma.

To use the cream, warm half a teaspoon of product in your hands before gently massaging into freshly cleansed and toned skin, from forehead to neck. Apply daily, or more often as required. Now, keep this in your beauty regimen and it’s safe to say that your skin will be duly rescued from the cold’s bitter attacks.

The Aesop Elemental Facial Barrier Cream (SGD77) will be available online and in stores from January 2015.
