Besides their hairdressing and styling finesse, we also love the actual salon space. In true Japanese aesthetic, the salon's open and airy space is minimalist in design and boasts of floor-to-ceiling windows, which let plenty of natural to flood its interiors. Opened by Tokyo-based hairstylist Daisuke Hamaguchi, the salon prices aren't too steep and are pretty reasonable.

Although Hair Inc. is still relatively new to the hairdressing game, the salon has already built a reputation for its impressive anti-frizz treatments and creative hair colouring services. There are 10 treatments you can choose from to pamper your locks with here, like the Olaplex 2-step Treatment and the Silky Smooth. S.A.D's Hair Design is the newest kid on the block. Recently throwing open their doors along River Valley Road, its Singapore outlet is its first out of Japan. This Japanese salon is inspired by the aesthetics and concept of an art gallery; the space boasts of a monochromatic colour scheme, which is beautifully accented by the furniture and framed art pieces on the salon walls. Customers get to recline on the Japan-imported Takara Belmont electric chairs in the salon's 700 square metres and enjoy the extensive range of hair services offered, from personalised hair cuts to creative colouring, as well as perms, rebonding and hair treatments.
