Our next stop on the Fashion Week radar was Paris. From statement hair to a burst of colour, the city of romance left no stone unturned to impress us with these beauty looks.

From New York to London, Milan and now Paris, the search for the next big beauty trend continues. The city of romance has left runway beauty ideas to inspire our everyday looks. We round up the top beauty looks that made us giddy with excitement for spring.

BARE MINIMALIST

Nothing speaks confidence more than an individual rocking her own skin. The bare minimalist look revolves around having a well-hydrated based prepped with the right skincare products. We love how the skin of the models looked radiant yet polished. To achieve such a look, simply exfoliate to get rid of any dead skin. Following which, apply a moisturizer of choice and a glossy lip balm to add some dimension to the lips. If coverage is needed, opt for a cream concealer and blend well. Dust translucent powder all over the face for an even finish. For an extra touch, highlight the inner corner of your eyes ever so slightly just like the models have done. This draws light to your features.

HUES OF BLUE

Blue seems to be a popular shade this season. It made an appearance during New York and London Fashion week as well. What is different this time is that hues of blue have been mixed to achieve a stunning eye look. Shades such as sky blue and sea-foam blue were mixed to achieve a beautiful hybrid as seen on models walking for Chanel. When it comes to mixing, start with the lightest hue and apply it to the first one-third of your eye. Next, apply a slightly darker hue of the first shade to the outer corner of your eye and blend well. This creates a well blended mix of both shades. To define the look further, take the darkest hue of the family and apply it into your crease to create some depth.

BOLD POUTS

It is all about the lips these days. A well defined pout is sure to make heads turn. Brick red and pepper red were popular choices this fashion week. These shades of red were used on models of varying skin tones and still looked flawless. We noticed that a matte formula was used in many looks indicating that the matte trend is still here to stay. With matte products, it is crucial to exfoliate your lips and prep them with a hydrating lip balm prior to application.

BURST OF COLOUR

Shades such as pink and orange also made an appearance on the runway. Given that these are such vibrant shades, it is important to be light handed when it comes to application. These colours look best when applied on just one feature – be it your eyes, cheeks or lips. Begin with eye makeup first and apply a layer of loose powder underneath your eyes to pick up any fall-outs. Doing your eye makeup first allows you to efficiently clean any coloured mess. Follow up with your foundation afterwards and rock this trend with confidence.

Statement Hair

If you would like to keep your makeup simple for the day, take a break and style your hair instead. Models from Esteban Cortazar spotted asymmetrical hair plaits – a modern twist on our everyday french plaits. If you have difficulties braiding your own hair, opt for clip on hair braids or you could even just jazz up your natural hair with an accessory. Let the inner princess in you shine by using a small tiara. If there is one thing we have noticed from these various hair statements, it is that the hair needs to be well hydrated and maintained. To improve the health of your hair, use a deep conditioning mask once a week to nourish your tresses.
