All the strength and grace of a L’Oréal Paris muse – along with an asserted femininity – is embodied in the beautiful actress Zoe Saldana.

The rumours that have been circulating on the web for a past while are now official: Zoe Saldana has become the newest ambassador to L’Oréal Paris, alongside Julianne Moore, Freida Pinto, Eva Longoria, Blake Lively, Lara Stone, Ryan Reynolds, Laetitia Casta and Jane Fonda.

Making her mark in the eyes of the public through her role as Neytiri in the film Avatar, Zoe first stepped into the big screen with the movie Centre Stage, in the role of an apprentice dancer with a strong character. Respected for her talent right from the get-go, it did not take the graceful figure very long to be praised by some of the biggest names in cinema such as Steven Spielberg, JJ Abrams and James Cameron.

The actress, best known for her roles in blockbusters like Pirates of the Caribbean (2003), Star Trek (2009), Star Trek: Into the Darkness (2013), and Avatar (2009), does not stop landing strong roles – in Colombiana by Olivier Megaton (2011), in Brian Klugman and Lee Sternthal’s dramatic comedy The Words (2012), with Christian Bale in Scott Coopers Out of the Furnace (2013), or in Guillaume Canet’s Blood Ties (2013) alongside Marion Cotillard.

Zoe may have established herself as a world-class actress, but she does not forget her values. She supports the FINCA microcredit association in Haiti, a structure that provides financial services to aspiring entrepreneurs with low-income, and also invests in initiatives to raise awareness on autism.

When asked about the choice of the new face, International Managing Director of L’Oréal Paris Cyril Chapuy does not beat around the bush:

“Zoe astonishes with her audacious style and feline beauty… Attached to her values, unafraid to speak her mind, and confident in her own skin, she embodies infallible force and asserted femininity. This spectacular actress with magnetic charm joined the L’Oréal Paris family today. We are very proud of it.”

The admiration is clearly mutual, evident from Zoe’s own reaction to the collaboration:

“Growing up, I was taught to believe that I am capable to do anything a man can do. This family philosophy has shaped who I am today, and is a conviction that will always accompany me through life… As a L’Oréal Paris spokesperson, being able to say: ‘We’re worth it’ means so much to me, I want to share that value with women so they can embrace it and execute life with confidence. I am thrilled to join this beauty journey with such an inspirational brand.”

In 2014, Zoe Saldana will star in the dark comedy Infinitely Polar Bear, and the latest sci-fi movie from the MARVEL studios, Guardians of the Galaxy. Currently filming in Paris for the new NBC miniseries adapted from Ira Levin’s novel Rosemary’s Baby, Zoe will again play the role of Neytiri in the next installment of Avatar, and Nyota Uhura in Star Trek 3 in 2015.
