Is it possible to explore the world without letting go of your job? Digital nomads who rhyme adventure with everyday work, tell us about their new lifestyle.

Gone are days of the commute, office, home, sleep routine. Web entrepreneurs, developers and consultants – they work while traveling the world. These digital nomads have decided to live differently due to new technologies. Some tell their adventures on the blogs. While many travel by plane and stay in hotels, others prefer the idea of ‘slow travel’, that is to say, for transportation by land or sea and homestays.

An account of Esra, 30, specialized, with her husband, in consulting projects and environmental sociaux¹.

“After five years of entrepreneurship, we felt the need to roam. Today I no longer distinguishes between work and play. I am inspired by my daily work to feed my activities and I have just as interesting weeks. Moving around, we’ve also been faced with accepting minimalism. A backpack is a good tool to lighten the mood!”

Certainly, jet lag, poor Internet connection and administrative red tape (spend a day in an embassy when we had planned to work!) sometimes complicate the situation. But not enough to discourage Esra who is currently staying in Japan after living in recent months in Turkey, Iran and even Siberia.

His advice? “Choose an activity that requires the least possible dependence on others, tell your audience your constraints, opt for a level of activity related to what you are actually able to do well in life and go for it! There will be time go back if that lifestyle does not suit you eventually ”
