From Madonna’s tragic tumble to Kim Kardashian’s selfie fail and Kanye West’s explicit performance, here’s what got everyone talking at this year’s BRITs.

What the Americans have as the Grammys, the British have as the BRITs – both of which are the biggest celebrations of chart topping hits and vocal talents in their music industry calendar.

This year the BRIT Awards slightly lacked in the thrill department other than the headline-grabbing Madonna fall or Kanye West’s performance that had expletives strewn all over the place. Instead, it was more cringe-worthy and awkward with the running “Kanye’s-about-to-steal-your-trophy” joke that hosts, Ant & Dec delivered or the Ellie Goulding and Lewis Hamilton flat quip about marrying each other – spoiler, it resulted in a burn by Lewis.

As for the winners, our favourite Sam Smith snagged British Breakthrough Act and the Global Success Award, while Taylor Swift got International Female Solo Artist and her best buddy, Ed Sheeren brought home the Mastercard British Album award.

So from heartfelt acceptance speeches to selfie fails and debuts of new songs, here are our best moments from the night of musical revelry!
