Ms Winfrey is the definition of success and she certainly doesn't need a child(or a man) to complete her. "If I had kids, my kids would hate me. They would have ended up on the equivalent of the Oprah show talking about me; because something in my life would have had to suffer and it would've probably been them."

Labelled "unlucky in love" after her string of failed romances, Jennifer Aniston has also had to field constant questions of when she's going to settle down and have kids. This comment she made to Allure magazine has got to be one of the wisest ones yet.
"I don't have this sort of checklist of things that have to be done, and if they're not checked, then I've failed some part of my feminism or my being a woman or my worth and my value as a woman because I haven't birthed a child. I've birthed a lot of things and feel I've mothered many things. I don't think it's fair to put that pressure on people."

Baby bumps might be the red carpet trend in Hollywood, but these famous women have gone the child free route and are doing just fine, thank you very much.

In the weeks leading up to Mother's Day, the media becomes saturated with soppy articles and stories glorifying mothers and their self sacrificing role in society. We can't look left, right or centre without being bombarded with the news of celebrity baby bumps and the message that women haven't quite fulfilled their function in society till they've paid their 9 months due and contributed to the increase in world population.
