Staff Picks: Marie France Asia’s favourite actor

Last year, we presented the top 10 sexiest actors of 2014 and while we agree with some of the choices on that coveted list, here’s whom the team at Marie France Asia thinks deserve a spot as well.

“Let’s face it, acting is not just about having good looks – at least for a movie buff like myself. But having a hunky actor who also happens to be good at acting, never hurts anyone. So it’s no surprise that my list of favourite actors include the likes of Edward Norton, James McCavoy, Keanu Reaves, Matt Damon and Benicio Del Toro. But topping this list is Japanese-Taiwanese actor Takeshi Kaneshiro, also known in Chinese as Jīnchéng Wǔ. Apart from the fact he starred in some of my favourite Wong Kar Wai films (Chungking Express and Fallen Angels), Andrew Lau’s brilliant HK crime drama Confession of Pain as well as the latest John Woo’s epic The Crossing and many more – Kaneshiro’s piercing gaze and understated acting are hard to resist, making him the perfect actor – and eye candy! Did I mention, he’s also ageless? Sigh…”
