Check out this illustration series about our generation’s reliance on the internet — is it an inconvenient truth or witty entertainment?

Are you sitting at the edge of your seat, impatient and all giddy at the thought of sharing your latest endeavour on social media, on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat or maybe… all of them? Then there is no doubt you are a part of the current internet-crazy generation.

Theoretically, a digital detox is what we need, but in reality, having a digital presence is the holy grail of this generation.

A PhD student at the University of Edinburgh, Ajit Johnson, created a series of meme based illustrations he dubbed #ThisGeneration to mock on our dependency on the internet.

As laughable as the illustrations are, you must admit they are — unfortunately — precise. The devices in our possessions have greatly changed the way we live and interact with our family and friends, and not entirely in a good way. Nowadays we spend more time staring at our screens rather than living our “real” life.

If we can’t step away from our screens, we should at least get a laugh out of it. Scroll through our gallery for the #ThisGeneration series by the UK-based designer!
