Marie France answers:

The headband is the new hair accessory. It is less preppy this season but still very feminine and works just as well on long hair as on short hair.

We have picked a few options for you to wear on different occasions; from a day at work to a lunch date with friends or a weekend in the sun. Yes, there’s a headband for every occasion!

Our advice would be not to wear it too tight as it might ride up your scalp and create a ‘mushroom’ effect and surely that’s not a look you would want to go for.

Leave the rhinestones, sequins and big flowers to 8-year-old girls and go for more understated designs. If you want a little glamour, don’t do a full-on ‘bling’ look but instead choose something that looks more like fine jewellery.

Want more? Here’s an advice from our beauty editor, Alexandra:

‘You can wear the same headband with different hairstyles; it goes with the hair down or pinned up for the day, or create a simple chignon for a more chic evening look.’
