Q&A with Asia’s Next Top Model Jessica Amornkuldilok
updated the 7 October 2015 à 00:07The Thai-German model talks candidly to MF Asia’s Yvette King. Read and find out why we can’t get enough of this gorgeous and down-to-earth beauty.
Softly spoken, humble, polite, shy and quirky is how I would describe the inaugural Asia’s Next Top Model winner Jessica Amornkuldilok. While she may be a delicate flower in a group scenario, or even just to talk to one on one – on the catwalk she blossoms into what Tyra Banks could only label as “fierce”. The Thai-German model with the willowy frame and face like Audrey Tautou’s French movie character Amelie was recently in Singapore for Digital Fashion Week. I caught up with her (many times, lucky me) and asked her a few quick-fire questions…
Marie France Asia: How has your life changed since winning the inaugural Asia’s NTM?
Jessica: My life changed with happiness in that I’ve become one of many peoples’ idol. I get more chances and enjoy meeting many new talented people. For example, walking the catwalk for Chanel in London and working with Wallis for You Magazine in London etc…
MFA: Do you still keep in contact with any of the other contestants on Asia’s NTM?
Jessica: We chat on Whatsapp group.
MFA: What were you thinking when you saw Naomi Campbell on the catwalk at Digital Fashion Week?
Jessica: She is amazing and she is one of my role models.
MFA: You’ve walked many catwalks and been on the covers of magazines, but what are your modeling dreams yet to be fulfilled?
Jessica: I always have new goals like acting, hosting and more modeling work in NYC, Paris and Milan.
MFA: If you weren’t a model, what would you be doing?
Jessica: Open a nursery school.
MFA: Paris or New York?
Jessica: Both.
MFA: Favourite Asian designers?
Jessica: Every designer is my favourite because I love variety of different style of clothing.
MFA: Secret shopping spots in Bangkok?
Jessica: Chatuchak Weekend Market in Bangkok.
MFA: You have amazing skin – any tips for Marie France Asia readers?
Jessica: Using natural products for skin like Vitamin E and eating healthy fruits and vegetables. I also do fitness exercise 3-4 days a week and I drink a lot of water!
MFA: What is your off duty style?
Jessica: Something simple and casual like shorts and shirt.
MFA: Where you would like to retire to?
Jessica: Any place with everyone I love.
MFA: Tell us something we don’t know about you.
Jessica: I love taking ‘selfie’ pictures
MFA: What is on your ipod?
Jessica: More than 3,000 songs and my cats’ pictures.
