Babes Pregnancy Crisis Support
A support system for teenagers with unplanned pregnancies, Babes Pregnancy Crisis Support is a pro-choice agency that offers aid to pregnant girls under the age of 21. Through a 24 hour helpline and subsequent caseworker support, girls can receive guidance and support in a friendly, non-threatening manner. There are three “tracks” of volunteering at Babes Pregnancy Crisis Support--befriending projects, skill-based projects, and administrative ad-hoc support.
Note: Befriending volunteers must be above the age of 25, preferably with parenting knowledge.

Association of Women for Action and Research (AWARE)
The Association of Women for Action and Research (AWARE) is Singapore’s leading gender equality advocacy group. AWARE raises awareness about gender-based social issues through research and advocacy, education and training programs, and support services for women in need. This volunteer opportunity is great for those who want to volunteer on an ad-hoc basis, as you can participate in activities that are either on-site or from home.

Star Shelter
Created by the Singapore Council of Women’s Organizations in 1999, Star Shelter provides a safe refuge for women and children who are victims of domestic violence. In addition to providing basic meals and lodging, Star Shelter provides trauma and crisis counseling and case management support. Volunteers can assist in tutoring, child-care support, skill-based support, and recreational support on a weekly basis. Where: 96 Waterloo Street, 187967

KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital
Located in Bukit Timah, KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital strengths lie in maternity and gynecological care. Volunteers can join befriending and counseling support groups such as the Women’s Cancer Support Group and the KK Alpine Blossoms Breast Cancer Support Group as well as participate in play sessions with children staying at the hospital.

Breast Cancer Foundation
The Breast Cancer Foundation is committed to raising awareness about breast cancer through talks, events, and publications that advocate for early detection. The Breast Cancer Foundation also supports breast cancer survivors and their families through various counseling and training activities. Many volunteer opportunities with BCF center around the month of October (Breast Cancer Awareness Month), but volunteers can participate in regular activities through their befriending program.

Aidha is a non-profit organization that provides financial literacy programs such as money management, computer literacy, leadership, and entrepreneurial skills for foreign domestic workers and lower-income women in Singapore. Their programs help to break the cycle of poverty for foreign domestic workers by helping them develop the skills needed to start a sustainable business for their families. Aidha volunteers must undergo a two-hour volunteer orientation where the Aidha team will assess your skills and assign roles for you!
