Blossom Beats Floral Display
When: Friday, 11 – 27 March; 9am – 9pm
Where: Flower Dome, Gardens By The Bay
Why: Transport yourself to Japan this week when you step into a garden of pastel blooms at Gardens By The Bay’s cooling Flower Dome. There’ll be cherry blossoms and peach blossoms on display, and the dome will be decked out in a traditional Japanese garden ornaments, complete with Torii gates and bonsai arrangements.

St. Patrick’s Day Street Festival 2016
When: 17 – 20 March
Where: Circular Road, Boat Quay
Why: The Singapore River comes to life this weekend, with live performances of folk music, dance and, of course, enticing servings of hearty Irish fare. Put on your best green clothes and enjoy a pint of Guinness, you’ll want to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in style!

Monkey Shoulder Cocktail Bootcamp

InTempo 2016: To The Stars by NUS Wind Symphony
When: Sunday, 20 March; 5pm
Where: Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music Concert Hall, 3 Conservatory Drive
Why: Book your tickets for a night of music inspired by the contemplations on objects of dark and mysterious outer space: the stars, the moon, the sun. The InTempo series is the longest running band concert series in Singapore. You won’t want to miss this performance by the talented members of the NUS Wind Symphony.

W Singapore presents Synthesising Music and Design

Where: National Design Centre, Auditorium, 111 Middle Rd
Why: This free 45-minute workshop will introduce you to the inner workings of graphic design and how it can amp up beats with W Singapore Sentosa Cove to enhance sensorial experience. W Hotels Music Director, Mr. Has, will offer his knowledge and share with you the similarities between quality music and graphic design.

GARDEN BEATS Festival 2016

Where: Fort Gate, Fort Canning Park
Why: Music lovers will get a kick out of this weekend’s festival set within the green and gorgeous nature landscape of Fort Canning Park. Nation's Electronic Picnic Festival, GARDEN BEATS, will give you the chance to join 2,500 other music fans in an experience headed by an eclectic international and local DJ line-up.

Ophelia

Where: Theatre Studio, Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay
Why: Presented by Cake Theatrical Productions Singapore, this production is inspired by Shakespeare’s character, Ophelia, and aims to explore the inner workings of the mind.

Families for Life Marriage Convention 2016
When: 19 – 20 March
Where: Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre, Level 3
Why: Find out more about how to create a strong and resilient bond with your spouse. The Marriage Convention will feature internationally acclaimed psychologist, Dr. Huang Wei-Jen (also known as Dr. Love), and other local marriage experts who will be more than happy to offer insights on managing the different stages of your relationship.

Earth Hour @ The Float
When: Saturday, 19 March; 6pm
Where: The Float @ Marina Bay
Why: Join the World Wildlife Foundation as they try to break the current world record of 2,276 people doing the yoga tree pose simultaneously. Admission is totally free, so long you can balance on one leg for a short period of time! A free Earth Hour live concert will also be held at The Float, and this is your only chance to witness some of Singapore’s iconic buildings switch their lights off in support of Earth Hour.

Cherry blossoms, electronic music performances, and green-tastic St. Patrick’s Day. What more could you want?

We’re now halfway through the month and we’ve been graced with plenty of sunshine and some frightfully hot days. This shouldn’t stop us from having a fun week out with family and friends! The school holidays are still in full swing and you’ll have noticed the surge in the number of people out and about.

This weekend, for those of you interested in being eco-friendly, you’ve got Earth Hour to look forward to. There are also a number of art, music and design related events that will keep you busy and your brain buzzing with creativity. If you’re a Shakespeare buff, head on over to the Esplanade Theatres to catch Cake Theatrical Productions’ Ophelia. Several events for Singapore Cocktail Week are still going on, so you may want to check them out too!
