Singapore Rhapsodies
When: 27 August, 6:30pm - 9:30pm

Where: Palawan Green, Sentosa

Why: Catch some of Singapore best emerging homegrown talent at Singapore Rhapsodies this Saturday night. Celebrating young, local artists, the inaugural concert features the likes of Charlie Lim, Gareth Fernandez and Daphne Khoo, alongside stalls selling local foods and an art market curated by Togetherly.

Still Life
When: 25 - 27 August, 8pm

Where: Victoria Theatre, 9 Empress Place

Why: Dimitris Papaioannou, creator of the Athens 2004 Olympics opening and closing ceremonies brings Still Life, an exploration of apocalyptic beauty and visual physical theatre to Singapore. A unique play on the Greek myth of Sisyphus, the performance explores the inhabitants of a world devastated by crisis and threatened by a heavy, poisoned sky, as they look to the calm peace of rituals and communion as an alternative to the tumultuous life in the world.

ArtScience Late: Tim De Cotta presents The Psychoactive Jazzhop Trip

Where: Expression Gallery, Level 4, ArtScience Museum
Why: Head over the the ArtScience museum tonight and get into the groove with some awesome progressive modern jazz and future-soul inspired beats, with hints of R&B and hip hop thrown in for good measure. With the likes of FZPZ, The Time De Cotta Triad and DasGeFoo doing what they do best, you are bound to be impressed. Admission is free, just register at the lobby!

Picnic Under the Planets
When: Saturday, 27 August; 7 - 11:30pm
Where: Science Centre Singapore, 15 Science Centre Road
Why: If you love the mysteries of outer space and are quite the astronomy buff, you’ll no doubt want to witness Venus and Jupiter at their closest this year. Head to Singapore’s Science Centre and you’ll meet some like-minded folks - there will also be some fun activities lined up, so bring the whole family.

August is coming to an end, but that doesn’t mean the activities in sunny Singapore are stopping anytime soon.

There are a handful of fun activities happening this week, including a cool get-together at the Singapore Science Centre that will see astronomy buffs and those interested in the mysteries of the universe witnessing Venus and Jupiter at their closest this year. For those more into health and wellbeing, you might want to involve yourself in a free yoga class with the folks over at the Pure Yoga studio in Asia Square, just to get your heart pumping and your muscles active.
