Art, music and film lovers, this collection of cleverly-designed tees and totes is for you – and now available in Singapore.

When it comes to having a weakness for clever and catchy graphic tees – we are guilty as charged!

Yes – despite being well beyond our teens (and no fans of Justin Bieber for that), we still love wearing those cheeky and cheery t-shirts which never fail to put a smile on our faces especially on those gloomy and rainy Sundays.

This is one reason, we are super excited about the newest kids on the block – Hong Kong-based hip multi-brand store Kapok which is renowned for discovering emerging brands from all around the world and collaborating with the best of them.

And instead of having to fly all the way there, Kapok has just opened its first flagship store in Singapore, at the National Design Centre.

What more? To kick off its launch in Singapore, Kapok has collaborated with HK-based graphic artist Rex Koo on an exclusive collection of tees and totes featuring his trademark minimalistic vector graphic illustrations.

The Kapok x Simple People collection takes inspiration from a number of popular film, music and art icons where in each illustration, the colour palette – combined with Rex Koo’s signature geometric style – represent the essence of the subjects which include: The characters Li-Zhen & Mo-Wan from Wong Kar-Wai’s film ‘In the Mood of Love’, David Bowie, Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol, Vito Corleone (aka The Godfather), Bruce Lee, Karl Lagerfeld and Alfred Hitchcock.

Our pick: Although we’re fans of everything ‘Karl’, we cannot resist Rex Koo’s clever take on the heroes of one of our favourite movies of all time, Wong Kar-Wai’s masterpiece ‘ In the Mood for Love’. We simply love it!

Kapok x Simple People collection (t-shirts at approx. USD72 and totes at approx. USD60) is now available at Kapok, The National Design Centre (g/f 111 Middle Road, Singapore 188969).
