While tongues were all wagging about skirts last week, the actresses put the spotlight on pants at the Cannes film festival yesterday.

There must have been word going round!

After the parade of evening gowns over the last 8 days, the androgynous outfit of the evening was THE dress code on the red carpets of the films Mommy and Jimmy Hall.

WE LOVE

Charlotte Gainsbourg: At the height of fashion, the outfit she turned up in was obviously a head-to-toe Louis Vuitton look, designed by her friend Nicolas Ghesquiere.
And not just any collection – this was the 2015 cruise line, which had appeared on the runway in Monaco just last weekend.
Ultra-modern in high-waisted, sporty zip-up pants in a soft yellow shade, and an openwork knit blouse, the muse did not fail her reputation.

Agnès B.: True to herself, she did not leave us disappointed.
The designer-turned-director has made simplicity her trademark for nearly 40 years; so it was completely natural to make her appearance on the red carpet in an ultra-chic, all-black ensemble.

WE LOVE LESS

Le Besco:  The immaculate, all-white look might be a good idea, but it requires some mastering, because to be successful, it must be perfect!
Between the crumpled jacket, the socks (why???) which peeked out from under the stilettos, and those slightly too-tight pants, the attempt is a total flop.

Asia Argento:  She has been known to be more subtle… yes, Asia is rock and rebellious from tip to toe, but we love it so much more when she surprises us with a more feminine outfit!

Last night, the Italian actressfilmmaker, singer and DJ climbed the stairs in a black trouser suit, which left the huge tattoo splashed across her cleavage in plain sight.
