Wooden origami blocks, vintage Gallery Café, museum shop – what more could we ask for?

Blurring lines between the retail, dining area and activity spaces, the contemporary design-inspired spacious venue aims to bring people together.

As the official museum store, Gallery & Co. is the confluence of fine art and applied art, where inspirations and ideas collide. Key graphic elements formulating the visual language include basic shapes and rudiments such as the circle, line, square and triangle as well as colours like blue, green, yellow and red, a palette many were introduced to as kids,” says Yah-Leng, in charge of foreign policy design.

Aligning the gallery’s primary art towards Southeast Asian Art, the brand hopes to put together culture, design and artisanal craft with an art-inspired experience. Artistic products on display include practical items ranging from stylish umbrellas to pop art T-Shirts for both adults and children.

While shoppers have their arty encounters, they can get their coffee fix done at the Gallery Café, where specialty coffee from micro-roaster Papa Palheta and soothing teas from & Co.’s house brand are available. Complete the menu with local-made Plain Vanilla’s delish cupcakes for your tea session.

And guess what? The distinct yet fluid space overlooks the historical Padang!

So check out the gallery for 10 trendy items you should snag for yourself when you head over to the museum this weekend.

Gallery & Co is located at National Gallery Singapore, City Hall Wing, #01-05–#01-17
