Diane von Furstenberg to open Singapore Fashion Week
Singapore is in for a great surprise — Diane von Furstenberg is to grace us with her presence this coming May.
Calling all fashion aficionados in Singapore — are you ready to see Diane von Furstenberg in the flesh?
Yes, you heard us right! The fabulous designer will open Singapore Fashion Week (SFW) whilst unveiling her Fall/ Winter 2015 collection.
Following SFW’s announcement of their alliance with the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), of which DVF is the president, Singapore will welcome the Belgian-born American this coming May 13th.
If you aren’t familiar with Diane von Furstenberg and her influential artistry by now, she is the fashion mastermind who invented the knitted jersey wrap dress. The gown rose to fame and garnered the designer a spot on the cover of Newsweek in the 70s. She has since ventured to other industries including fragrance, publishing, jewelry, home-shopping, and much more. Considering how far she’s come, she has been deservingly dubbed as the modern-day Coco Chanel.
Needless to say, we are thrilled to go from seeing DVF embroidered on the back of her colourful dresses, to seeing her in the flesh!
