From Singapore to New York: Collate The Label heading to NYC’s Coterie show

Along with Raoul, Stolen and Aijek, four local brands will be taking part in New York’s Coterie show, in a bid to improve visibility stateside.

Singapore designers often tend to find it a mammoth of a task to venture out on international waters. However, that’s not going to stop any of them from giving it a whirl at least. Especially not newly launched brand, Collate The Label, who is more than raring to go for New York City’s upcoming Coterie show in September.

The three-day exhibition and trade event (19 – 21 September) will showcase unique shopping experiences for designers and buyers in order to create a brilliant synergy to fuel businesses. Held at the Jacob K Javits Convention Center in New York, visitors can expect to be treated to a whole myriad of designers from all over the country as well as international brands in the mix.

Helmed by Velda Tan, one of the founders of online fashion retailer Love, Bonito, Collate The Label debuted their brand two months ago at Singapore Fashion Week. So though the label is still at its infancy, there’s no questioning the quality of their apparel, making them ideal candidates to show at Coterie. And along with Collate, Raoul, Stolen and Aijek will also be a part of Coterie this year, creating a good crop of designers at the show.

While it’s definitely difficult to break into the American market, at least visibility of local designers will no doubt improve as more continue to head stateside.
