Watch This: 100 Years of Wedding Gowns in three minutes

From flapper dresses of old to 70s bohemian chic, we watch the evolution of wedding dresses through the past century.

A series of such videos have become immensely popular in the past few months. That includes videos like ‘100 Years of Men’s Swimwear in 3 minutes‘ and ‘100 Years of Fashion in 2 minutes”, that has over 3 million and 6 million views respectively. Now, that is a lot of views.

Their latest of such videos is 100 Years of Wedding Dresses, and it explores the evolution of bridal gowns throughout the century, starting in 1915, and ending this year.

The gowns that are worn on the happiest days of women’s lives have changed very much since 1915. The silhouettes are more fitting, the materials are different, and the embellishments and accessories are simpler, but still elegant and refined at the same time.

Each decade lent a different inspiration to each gown. In the 1920s, the gowns were akin to flapper dresses, and in the 1950s the skirts got fluffier, like the casual dresses the ladies wore with their pearls and satin gloves. In the 70s, everyone was swept up in the bohemian craze, and wore flower crowns and lace.

So as we flip through each decade in this short video, the question remains, which gown do you love the most?
