The luxury house has kickstarted an initiative to support children in need.

Through the decision of Louis Vuitton’s creative director, Nicolas Ghesquière, the initiative, #MakeAPromise was launched in January. With this, the luxury house gives its clients the opportunity to assist children in emergency situations by marketing a jewel where part of the profits will be donated directly to UNICEF.

The Silver Lockit, a small padlock that can be used as a pendant or a charm, was designed as a symbol of the promise made to help the children. Available at louisvuitton.com or directly in the shop, the jewelry is engraved with the LV initials.

For all those who cannot afford the precious locks, Louis Vuitton offers up to the chance to share your pledge through the hashtag #MakeAPromise.

The principle is simple and accessible to all:

  1. Choose a partner who’s ready to make the promise to help children in need
  2. Interlace your two little fingers in a photo
  3. Share the photo on the social networks with the hashtag #MakeAPromise
  4. Tag your friends and encourage them to do the same

From Nicole Kidman to Lewis Hamilton , dozens of people have already shown their support the United Nations Children’s Fund. Where’s yours?
