Branda, 31, Legal Recruiter

Brand was only 28 years old when she was diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer. She had to undergo chemotherapy and endured bouts of negative emotions and side effects, and also hair loss. Her initial thought process kept revolving around the cause of her illness: "I kept thinking, why me? I was young, led a relatively healthy lifestyle. I never thought I would have cancer, definitely not at this age."

However, giving up was not an option for her. With the support of her family, friends and her husband, Branda steeled herself for the journey. On days when her self-esteem dipped, her husband would always reassure her that he would never give up on her. Branda shared, "I didn't even want to look at myself in the mirror. But even when I had no makeup on, no eyelashes, brows and no hair, my husband would say, 'You look so beautiful today.'"

Today, Branda is an active member of BCF and strong advocate for Breast Cancer Awareness, reminding others not to take life and health for granted. When asked about the advice she has for other women, Branda added, "Be vigilant about your body changes, do regular self-checks and do not take your health for granted."

Cellina, 57, Homemaker

Cellina had always had regular mammograms, but stopped in 2009. When she finally resumed with her routine mammograms in 2014, she found out she was diagnosed with stage 1 lobular cancer - a rare form of breast cancer which occurs in the milk-producing glands. Cellina was in disbelief as she had to undergo a mastectomy and a reconstruction - something she thought was taboo and unthinkable.

But with the full support and love from her family, as well as advice from other women who had been in similar circumstances, Cellina quelled her fears and soldiered on bravely.

Cellina is now on medication and has since become much more active, even participating in BCF's Paddlers in the Pink dragon boat team where she draws strength from other women like herself. Her perspective on life has changed as well. Cellina said, "My husband and four kids used to come first. But after this journey, I learnt to love myself more, I make time for myself. And don't worry so much!"

Cellina advises women to live life to the fullest and be thankful for everything, including the relationships with loved ones.

Stand #StrongerTogether this Breast Cancer Awareness month with PAZZION.

In support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October, PAZZION invites you to join in their #StrongerTogether campaign to celebrate the strength, courage and resilience of women bravely battling against breast cancer. The campaign hopes to spread awareness that early detection saves lives and saves breasts, through the inspirational personal journeys of breast cancer survivors.

This year, PAZZION will be releasing a limited edition pink pump heels made of a pink suede and sporting a ribbon design that resembles the pink Breast Cancer Awareness ribbon. In addition, there will also be a series of personal stories by four breast cancer survivors who have courageously opened up about their personal journey, in hopes that it would be a source of comfort, support and inspiration for women.

Through these shared stories, The Breast Cancer Foundation hopes to spur on women to take a more active role in their health by regularly going for checkups and staying vigilant. No doubt, the experiences shared by these brave breast cancer survivors will impart meaningful lessons for other women going through breast cancer. The limited edition pumps (SGD76) will be available at all PAZZION outlet stores in Singapore and online from 1 to 31 October 2017.

30% of the net proceeds will be donated to the Breast Cancer Foundation to fund their initiatives.
