Nothing is more memorable than a smell…” Says the American poet Diane Ackerman. Maybe the start-up QBlinks had this in mind when it created the iScent a Bluetooth 4.0 atomizer tower which works with our Smartphone.

How does it work?

First, you have to download the app on your iPhone or Android and connect it to the wireless iScent tower with the Bluetooth.

Then, you will have to choose whether or not you want to be alerted by your iScent for Incoming calls, text messages, Gmails, emails, tweets, and notifications from Facebook, Google+, LINE, Skype, Calendar, WeChat, and Whatsapp.

And that’s it. Depending on what you choose, and provided that your phone is no more than 32 feet away from it, the iScent tower will release a jet of mist and a scent to notify you of a call, a Twitter alert and a text message at the same time.

The iScent tower is compatible with any essential oil mixture with water or any kind of small-molecule liquid like coffee, or tea etc. You will just have to make sure the aromatic water in the tower doesn’t run dry!

And for those that are afraid that the vapor might scald them, the research team confirms that the atomized mist is completely safe and can act as a humidifier.

We had almost forgotten, with the iScent device you can switch to the party mode to have iScent release mist to speech, music or song.

If you are at all interested in “smelling” your notifications, you should know then that the project, launched here on Kickstarter, will only be funded if at least $33,000 is pledged by Friday, Oct 3 2014 3:00 PM AWST. So hurry up!
