From drone cameras to iPhone apps and now in-store iPads - it seems the Kaiser is certainly obsessed with the idea of marrying fashion and technology!
From THAT Oscars 2014 epic selfie to those of model Jessica Amornkuldilok, we can clearly say that the buzzword over the last few months has been - you guessed it - "Selfie"!
Long gone the days of perfectly framing your shots and asking whoever passing by to click that button for you. It's all about you taking your own photo these days, especially with the HD cameras on our smart phones and tablets.
This trend seems to have also found a fan in iconic fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld. The Kaiser has endorsed this trend by fixing iPads to the fitting room walls of his new flagship store on Regent Street in London. In doing so, he encourages shoppers to photograph themselves while they're trying on different outfits, then to instantly share the selfies via social media sites like Twitter, Facebook or Instagram to consult their friends and find out their opinion. They can even change the images by using image filters inspired by the designer himself.
But the icing on the cake is the digital guestbook where fans can leave feedback and sign up to get live tweets from Karl himself and there are also iPad minis which display the whole online ready-to-wear collection - Ideal for getting instant inspiration before you make your way to the fitting room. While on the subject, it's not clear if there is a time limit in the changing room, so until we know there is, we can take our time getting the perfect pout - a la Karl - for our selfie!
