The one-stop shop that celebrates everything from local designers re-opened last week to more exciting ventures.

Ever since KEEPERS: The Singapore Designer Collective sprung onto the scene, local fashion deisgners have been given the much-needed space to showcase their impeccable creations and brilliant talent to a wider net of audience.

Now, the pop up store at Orchard Green has extended their ‘lease’, so to speak, and will be holding down their fort till 15 January 2016, giving the industry much to be proud of. Re-launching into a full-fledge concept store, KEEPERS will see a new monthly calendar of events. In March, the venue kicked off with ‘ENCORE’, where all-time favourite local designers returned, and a new corner, The Wonder Room, will be showcasing monthly themes and selected merchandise accordingly.

Additionally, till 3 April, Code Deco’s ‘Memory project’ will allow shoppers to take a whiff of 12 to 14 scents that will possibly remind them of familiar places and things, like in a Singapore taxi or a nightclub in the 90s. We tried taking a quick smell and were pleasantly surprised at how well, Gauri Garodia, the nose at Code Deco managed to capture the distinct scents. Intriguing is one way to put it.

Afterwards, April will herald in a fresh zest of Spring where KEEPERS will invite a team of designers revered for their bespoke services, including Time Taken to Make a Dress, Carrie K and Ling Wu, amongst others. Essentially, this would be the perfect time to get your customised jewellery and made-to-measure dresses made – no doubt they would represent you to a T.

Carolyn Kan, designer at Carrie K, who conjured up this remarkable concept sums it the experience up eloquently, “We have received tremendous support not only from TaFf, STB, SPRING Singapore and moving forward, DesignSingapore Council, but also from the designers and everyone who has walked through our door. Many have been surprised by the diversity and calibre of design talent in Singapore that has been brought to the fore. I’d like to invite everyone who’s driven past but not yet stopped by, to pop in and discover the unique stories behind the designers’ work”.

So look to KEEPERS and you’ll know that Singapore is unquestionably a brimming pot of creativity waiting to be devoured.
